How is darry like a Soc in the book outsiders?

Darry Curtis, one of the main characters in S.E. Hinton's novel "The Outsiders," does not show any significant similarities to the Socs, the privileged social group in the book. Unlike the Socs, Darry is not wealthy, does not flaunt his social status, and does not engage in reckless or violent behavior. Instead, Darry is portrayed as a responsible, hardworking, and caring individual who tries to provide for his younger brothers.
