Why was the book and movie called when there hardly any salvation in story?

The book and movie are called "Shawshank Redemption" after the prison where most of the story takes place. The theme of redemption is central to the story, as many of the characters find themselves transformed and ultimately redeemed through their experiences. Andy, the main character, exemplifies this theme as he overcomes adversity and ultimately triumphs, despite spending decades in prison for a crime he did not commit. Through his determination, and with the help of his friend Red, and finds redemption in hope despite his circumstances.
