Cut your cord into 10 pieces measuring 12 feet each. Make an overhead knot in the center of six of the cords. (See Reference 2) Double half hitch three of these knotted cords above the ring, on the upper left section of the ring. (See Reference 3) Make three similar knots on the upper right section; you just created the frogs “ears.”
Place four reverse Larks Head knots in the top center of the ring, between your left and right knot clusters. (See Reference 4) Face the heads of these knots behind the frog; you will now have 20 dangling strands.
String a white bead onto the seventh cord and fourteenth cord from the left for the frog’s eyes.
Gather the center eight cords together and tie a row of square knots across them. Tie another row of square knots below that row with the center 12 cords. Tie yet another row of square knots with the center 16 cords. Tie another row of square knots with all the cords. Tie the last row of square knots with the center 16 cords; you’ve just filled in the top of the frog’s head.
Pull the leftmost cord across the ring tightly and tie it around the right side of the ring. Double half hitch all remaining cords around this horizontal cord. Pull the rightmost cord to the left side of the ring, tying it tautly to the ring, and again double half hitch all the cords around this cord to finish the frog’s mouth.
Tie all the cords into a row of square knots. Tie the center 16 knots together in another row of square knots. Tie another row of square knots in the center 12 strands. Tie a final row of square knots with the center eight cords.
Double half hitch the 20 loose cords to the bottom of the ring to complete the macramé frog.
