How to Destroy the One Ring

In J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy epic "The Lord of the Rings," the One Ring was created by the Dark Lord Sauron to destroy all that was good in Middle-earth. After thousands of years without the ring, Sauron's forces are rebuilding, and the young Hobbit Frodo must destroy the ring that has come to his possession. If he succeeds, the evil of Sauron will be forever gone from Middle-earth. If he fails, darkness will overcome the land.

Instructions

    • 1

Take the Ring to Mordor. To destroy the ring, it must be cast into the fires from which it was made. This means that Frodo must journey from his home in the Shire, to Mordor where the Dark Lord sits.

    • 2

Sneak past Sauron's spies. There are many creatures in Middle-earth that work for the Dark Lord. Secrecy will be Frodo's aid on his way to Mordor, and once there he will need to avoid all those who guard the Dark Lord's tower. Orcs, trolls and the dreaded Nazgul will all stand in Frodo's way.

    • 3

Cast the One Ring into the fire. If Frodo does make it to the Cracks of Doom to destroy the ring, he will be throwing away a great power. Overcoming the power of the ring in order to destroy it is no easy feat.
