Is there a detective named Sherlock not Holmes in crime fiction?

While Sherlock Holmes is undoubtedly the most famous detective with the name "Sherlock," there are actually a few other fictional detectives who share that name, though they are not as well-known:

* Sherlock Samms is a private investigator created by the American author Donald Hamilton. He debuted in 1960 and appeared in 25 novels.

* Sherlock Bones is a dog detective created by the author John D. MacDonald in his 1957 novel, *The Deep Blue Good-by*.

* Sherlock Brown is a fictional character created by British author G.K. Chesterton in his 1923 short story "The Queer Feet."

It's worth noting that these characters are not direct imitations of Sherlock Holmes and have their own unique personalities and approaches to solving mysteries.
