How to Find an Issue of The Economist

Dating back to 1843, "The Economist" has covered important historical, cultural and political topics throughout its existence. Subscribing to "The Economist" will give you free access to the digital version of the magazine, the online version of the print edition and archived issues of the magazine since 1997. "The Economist" also gives subscribers options to reuse its content in an educational or informative manner. If you are looking for a particular issue of the magazine, you may be able to find it online or through customer service.

Instructions

      Go to the website economist.com if you are looking for an issue after 2000.

      Click "Print edition" in the upper right hand corner of the toolbar. A new window will come up.

      Click the link entitled "More print editions and covers" found along the right hand side of the website. A new window will come up containing covers of past issues.

      Browse through the covers. Clicking on "Earlier Covers" found below the thumbnails of the most recent covers will call up older editions of the magazine. Or you can click on the drop boxes that say "Edition," "Year" and "Months" in order to choose which specific edition you want.

      Click on "Enlarge" to see the cover in a larger format and "See Contents" to look at each issue's table of contents. You are then able to click on specific articles from the issue and print them or e-mail them.

      Call customer service at 800-456-6086 or e-mail them at [email protected] if you want to find an issue of "The Economist" before 2000.

      Tell customer service that you would like a certain issue of "The Economist." Give the customer service agent as much information as you can about the particular issue you would like to find.
