Help your child write a story by letting him tell you the story while you type it into a word processor. Alternatively, have your child type his story after you have verbally worked out the story together.
Help your child find images to go with the story and have her cut photographs from magazines or select photos you already have at home. Your child can also draw pictures with magic markers or other art supplies.
Print your child's story and use scissors or a paper cutter to trim away excess paper so that the text of the story is not surrounded by too much white space.
Glue text and corresponding images onto the pages that will become the interior of the book. Put all the pages in order.
Make a cover for the book with a paper stock that is heavier that regular paper, but not too heavy. Card stock works well for this. Print a digital image for the cover or have your child use magic markers to draw a picture on the cover.
Take the VeloBind spine and match it up to your pages. Make a light mark with a pencil where the pegs in the spine are. Use a hole punch to make holes on those marks.
Insert the pegs of the VeloBind spine through the holes. Put the last page of the book on the pegs first. The cover should be last. Add the VeloBind clear plastic cover. Fasten the spine by snapping the pegs into place.
