Store books in closed glass cases, situated away from sunlight, if possible. The glass case can protect the books from dust and moisture.
Place books in a bookcase if a glass case is not available. Store books with those that are similar in size, such as smaller paperbacks with others like it and larger books on the same shelf as other big books.
Choose a cool, dry place to keep your books. Rooms with high humidity, an abundance of sunlight or warm temperatures can warp the books, along with attracting mold and possibly insects.
Keep your books, and the shelves that they are stored on, well dusted. A buildup of dust, dirt and grime can age and warp the books.
Stack books so that they are able to be easily removed or taken down from a particular shelf. Books that are stored too tightly can easily become damaged.
