Keep a pad of paper and a writing utensil with you at all times to jot down memories.
Listen to some of your old music, look at photographs or check out some books on writing an autobiography from your local library if you are having a hard time remembering things. Ask family members, friends and other people involved in your life what they remember about you.
Speak with a lawyer before beginning your autobiography if you have any fears about being sued. They can help you determine if there are any facts that may be considered libelous.
Be prepared to be honest about your actions, thoughts, feelings and anything that happened to you or within your family. Make sure your emotions come through in your memories.
Begin with what is most comfortable for you.
