Instructions

    • 1

Find the packing slip in the original box in which your used book was mailed. You have 30 days from receiving your order to send it back. If you have lost your packing slip, log into BarnesandNoble.com and click on the "My Account" tab. There, you will be able to view all of your previous orders. Select the order you want to return, and it will provide you with contact and return information for the used book seller who sold the book to you through BarnesandNoble.com.

    • 2

Use the contact information on that packing slip to address your return envelope or box. This will be the used book company who sold the book to you through Barnes and Noble.

    • 3

Write out the name and address of the company where you are returning your used book on the front of the envelope or box. Be sure to include your name and home address in the upper left corner of the box should it need to be returned. Do not return your used book to Barnes and Noble; it must be sent back to the original seller.

    • 4

Place your book inside the addressed envelope or box and seal with packing tape. Remember that the used book must be in the same condition as you received it.

    • 5

Take to the nearest post office and have it weighed and shipped. You might want to consider getting a delivery confirmation for your mailing to be sure that it arrived at the bookseller.

    • 6

Barnes and Noble notes that once the seller has notified it of your used book return, it will process the information and issue a refund through BarnesandNoble.com, where you bought the book.
