Olympia, Washington Book Clubs

Book clubs meet in coffee shops, book stores and libraries throughout the Olympia, Washington area and surrounding counties. Clubs covering a wide variety of genres--from current bestsellers to the classics--meet at numerous locations and times each month. Whether the goal is to discuss books, participate in intellectual conversations with like-minded individuals or just meet new friends, individuals will easily find a club suitable to their interests.
  1. Page Turners Book Discussion

    • People develop friendships in book clubs.

      The Page Turners Book Discussion group is facilitated by the Timberland Regional Library. The TRL caters to book lovers via 27 libraries, five centers and three kiosks in Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific and Thurston counties in Southwest Washington State. The Page Turners Book Discussion meets at various times and locations Monday through Saturday. Meetings are posted on the Timberland Regional Library website. Book discussions include \"Still Alice\" by Lisa Genova, \"American Gospel: God, the Founding Fathers and the Making of a Nation\" by Jon Meacham and \"Nothing Like it in the World\" by Stephen E. Ambrose.

    Fans of Fiction Book Club

    • Books stir the imagination.

      Borders book store hosts the Fans of Fiction Book Club in West Olympia. Meetings are held at the Borders store located in the Westfield Capital Mall in the Promenade off I-5 and Highway 101. Book discussions have included \"The Art of Racing in the Rain\" by Garth Stein. Participants can call the store for more information or check the website for meeting times and books.

    The Booklovers Book Club

    • Reading is an inexpensive pastime.

      The Booklovers Book Club's mission is to discover new books and new friends. Founded on Sept. 24, 2007, it meets at 3 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month. As of May 2010, the club consists of 84 members. Meeting locations vary from coffee shops to members' homes. Selections are determined by the group and include \"The Help\" by Kathryn Stockett, \"The Infidel\" by Ayaan Hirsi Ali and \"Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time\" by Mark Haddon.       The Kent/Covington Book Club was founded April 24, 2010 to bring together people with a passion for reading.
