Obtain the complete set of "Batman versus Predator" comic books. The comic books were originally printed in three issues, and were later collected in a one-volume trade paperback, or graphic novel, format. You can purchase the graphic novel from a local bookstore or comic book store---which may also have the original three-issue series available as back issues. Used copies of the graphic novel are available at Amazon.com or on the Barnes & Noble website.
Start at the top of the page and read down following left to right. American comic books read in the same way as standard American books, and unlike Japanese manga, which reads right to left, back to front. Comics are displayed in panels and there may be some "cross over" or "overlap" between the panels where they spill on to one another--this technique will lead you to the next panel that you must read.
Read the background text and examine the pictures prior to reading the dialogue balloons. The background text, usually in a small box in one of the top corners of the panel will tell you important information, such as the date, time or location of the scene. The text in the background text boxes can also be a character's thoughts. Further, the artwork in "Batman versus Predator" is dark and detailed, and you must observe the images to fully appreciate the dialogue.
Consider the topic of hunting as it relates to Batman and the Predator. The Predator is an alien who travels between planets hunting for sport. He seeks out the most difficult and challenging prey--those who are prime examples of their species--and hunts them for entertainment. Batman is also a hunter, but he does not do it for pleasure--he uses his detective skills and reasoning to locate and capture criminals.
Contrast the use and purpose of violence between the characters. Both characters are violent--the Predator inflicts great harm, killing graphically and by any means necessary, while Batman is more reserved--using violence as a tool and refusing to kill. Violence is used by the Predator for his enjoyment, while it is used by Batman to subdue criminals and prevent future violence.
