How to Manage My Paper Delivery

Print newspapers often offer online options to reach readers in their home and on the road. While a newspaper's website may offer free content, publishers often treat print subscribers to online replica editions of the print edition or exclusive online content. Manage subscriptions the traditional way by dialing the circulation department and responding to the prompts in the automated system. Many papers, such as "The New York Times," offer online subscription management. Check your favorite paper to see if this option exists. Click on "Home Delivery" or "Subscriptions" from their homepage. Some papers offer a login for blog comments, but the circulation data base may require a separate registration.

Instructions

    • 1

Wait until your first or latest paper arrives before registering the subscription online. Some papers, such as the "Detroit Free Press," require the account number as it appears on your invoice. If you do not already receive the paper, you can order delivery through your online account. Many papers do not allow a user to register for a home delivery login unless they purchase a subscription at the same time or import an existing one.

    • 2

Enter your account number, if you have an existing subscription. For both new users and subscriptions-in-progress, enter your street address and name during the registration process. The database will assign your subscription information to the new online account.

    • 3

Opt in or out. Often, account holders may elect to receive communications via email or mail from partner companies.

    • 4

Review your billing statements when they appear online. "The New York Times," for example, accepts user-initiated credit card payments or automatic drafts from money market accounts.

    • 5

Suspend delivery when a vacation looms or modify subscription package from your online account. Look for boxes to check or options to click.
