Go to the CreateSpace website and click the "Pricing" tab halfway down the page to use the royalty calculator to get an estimate of the cost of printing your book using CreateSpace.
Click the "create a new account" link at the top of the page.
Fill out the requested information to sign up for a free CreateSpace account. Do not check the "free consultation" option. Click the "Create My Account" button to go to the "Member Agreement" page.
Click the radio button to accept the agreement and click the "Continue" button to go to the Welcome page.
Click the "Set Up Your Book Now" button to choose the "Do-It-Yourself" option and go to the "Start Your New Project" page. You can choose to "Do-It-Yourself or "Call in the Pros!" "Do-It-Yourself" is the less expensive option.
Name your project and choose "Paperback" when asked for a type of project. Click the "Get Started" button for the "Guided" setup process option to begin setting up your book for printing.
Click the "Setup Instructions" and "Submission Requirements" link at the bottom of the Setup section of the left menu to review instructions and submission requirements.
Enter all the requested information for the links in the "Setup" section of the left menu. Fill out all the information for the "Title Information," "Physical Properties," "ISBN," "Interior," "Cover" and "Complete Setup" links.
Click the "Publish" tab at the top of Lulu.com and select "Books" from the left menu to go to the "Self Publish a Book" page.
Scroll down to the "Book Specifications" page to download specifications for any type of book you are interested in by clicking the "Download Zip File" next to the appropriate option. Scroll down further and click the "Start Publishing" button to go to the "Choose Paperback or Hardcover" page.
Click the "Make a Paperback Book" option to go to the "Start a New Project" page. Choose this option because it is less expensive than the "Make a Hardcover Book" option.
Enter a working title, and the author's name on the "Start a Project" page.
Click the "Learn more about ISBNs and distribution" link at the bottom of the page to learn the differences between these three options available to decide what to do with the project. After you have made your choice, click the "Save & Continue" button on the "Start a Project Page." Follow on-screen instructions to complete the publishing process.
