Verify that your article is appropriate for the magazine. Articles in Woman's World Magazine are helpful, informative and upbeat. In addition, the magazine uses a very conversational tone, featuring articles that are written by "real people," rather than professional writers. To write for Woman's World Magazine, your article should be short (generally no more than 1600 words) and written in a simple, conversational style (as if you're talking to your best girlfriend).
Research the magazine's audience. Woman's World readers tend to be Caucasian women between the ages of 30 and 50. The average reader is a busy, working-class woman who spends most of her time at work and with her family-she reads Woman's World in her free time, and often views the magazine as a personal retreat, setting aside specific alone time to read it from cover-to-cover.
Review past copies of the magazine. Make sure your topic hasn't already been used (or, if it has, make sure you are writing from a different angle). Woman's World covers a variety of topics, including health, nutrition, parenting, budgeting tips and personal narratives. Unlike many other women's magazines, articles written on fashion, beauty and dating are not appropriate for Woman's World.
Send a query letter to the editor (contact information provided in below Resources). Keep your query brief--you simply want to pitch the idea to the editor and convince her that the audience will want to read about it. Make sure you include a self-addressed and stamped envelope with your query.
Write the article. Once the editor responds to your query, you should be ready to send her the article. Again, make sure you target the article specifically for the magazine's audience and use a style that is similar to other articles in the publication.
