Renaissance eBooks expects all submissions to be free of errors and properly formatted, so following submission guidelines is vital.

Instructions

  1. Preparing Your Manuscript

    • 1

Review the Renaissance eBooks website. Read the author guidelines to make sure your manuscript is in a genre that editors are seeking; also double-check formatting requirements for your manuscript. Renaissance provides a sample contract online. Study the contract before submitting your book so you understand every aspect of the agreement, including royalties and rights.

    • 2
Reformat your manuscript to fit the guidelines.

Reformat your manuscript as necessary according to Renaissance eBooks guidelines. Your manuscript font must be 14 point Times New Roman, black only. Use the "format" option to set the first line to .2 inches. Set all margins to 1-1/2 inches, and single space text with no extra lines between paragraphs. Insert a page break at the end of each chapter.

    • 3

Create a title page for your book. Put your name, address and e-mail in the upper left corner of the page. Center the title on the page in 18 point Times New Roman font, all bold capital letters. Center "By" on the next line in 18 point font; use uppercase "B" and lowercase "y". On the next line, center your author name as you want it to appear on the book; if you're publishing under a pseudonym, use it here. Your author name should appear in 18 point Times New Roman, all bold in capital letters. Insert a page break at the end of the title page. Also insert page breaks at the ends of other introductory pages, such as the dedication or preface.

    • 4

Format the beginning and ending of each chapter. Chapter headings must be formatted in 18 point bold Times New Roman in all capital letters and centered on the line. If the chapter has a title, include it on the same line as the chapter number in bold capital letters, like this: CHAPTER III: SCHOOL DAYS. Insert a page break at the end of each chapter; do not use a section break or "next page" break.

    • 5

Save your manuscript as a Microsoft Word document in rich text format (RTF) or as a plain document (DOC).

    Submitting Your Manuscript

    • 6

Write a short cover letter and book synopsis. Provide information about you and your book in the cover letter, including your book's word count. The synopsis should be a one-page description of your book. Create the cover letter and synopsis in Word documents so you can save them for your records.

    • 7

Create a new e-mail document addressed to [email protected]. Copy and paste the text of your cover letter into the body of the e-mail, followed by the text of the synopsis.

    • 8

Attach the complete manuscript document to the e-mail and send.
