Thread the typewriter ribbon. You will find two spools on the typewriter: one will be attached to the typewriter, while the other will be set in place on the opposing side of the carriage. You have to thread the ribbon through the first spool's slotted holders and then through the second spool.
Set the page tabs and margins by moving the sliders on the bar. You will find this bar right behind the carriage roller of the typewriter.
Raise the bar with three small rollers and keep it away from the roller carriage.
Place a sheet of paper at the rear of the roller carriage. Now use the knobs found at the end of the carriage to roll the paper into the typewriter to the point where you want to start typing.
Secure the paper inside by sliding the bar with three small rollers back into its place.
Start typing text on the paper. When you finish writing one line, you will hear a bell, after which you have to use the carriage return bar for moving the paper sheet to the point where you want to start the new line.
Continue typing until your document has finished or you have run out of the current page. For removing typing errors, you will have to use a correction tape or a fluid, and then backspace the paper sheet to type the correct letter or letters over the tape or fluid.
