How to Publish a Book Online for Free

Once you've written a book, the next step is to get it published so you can share it with the world. There are two options: self publishing and signing a deal with a publisher. It can be a challenge to get your book accepted by a publisher, so many people opt for self publishing. Self publishing a book can be very expensive if you decide to do it yourself, but there are some online websites that will allow you to do it for free.

      Visit www.pdf995.com and download a copy of the free PDF converter. Install the software on your computer. There is a free version and a paid version. The free version comes with ads but works fine.

      Open the Microsoft Word document containing the book. Go to the "Print" menu and print the book using the PDF printer that was added when you installed the PDF converter.

      Save the book as a PDF using the following format: Book Title-Author Name. Keep the name as simple as possible, and don't use lots of hyphens or periods in the name. Some people's computers won't accept the file if the name is full of hyphens.

      Create an account at www.docstoc.com and upload the book in PDF format to the website. Save the link that will take you back to the book in a text file with the same name as the book title.

      Share the link to the book with your friends and family via email, Facebook, Twitter, Google Chat and/or your personal website. Once you upload the book to www.docstoc.com, it will be searchable by web search engines like Google, Yahoo or Ask.com.
