Gather all of the chapters, table of contents and bibliography (if applicable) for your book into one word document. Type the title of your book and your name on the first page. Include other material you want printed in your book, including your biography and perhaps a dedication, Bible quote or inspirational message near the beginning.
Proofread and edit your book carefully, and if possible, have a few others read it as well. Read your book aloud, both to check for grammatical errors and to ensure that your choice of words is as powerful and motivational as possible.
Research several different self-publishing companies to find your ideal package, such as Lulu, Infinity Publishing and Art Bookbinding. Some self-publishers are better for books that are just for family and friends, while others are more ideal if you want to share your inspirational story with a larger crowd. If you intend to sell your book, you will need to register for an International Standard Book Number (ISBN) for a fee at ISBN.org, which may be included in your contract depending on the self-publisher you choose. If you do not wish to sell your book but want a fairly large number to hand out at church or at conferences, be sure the self-publisher you choose offers a lower rate for bulk orders.
Choose a publisher and either register on its website or call the phone number provided for questions and registration. You will either do it yourself by uploading your manuscript online, or mail a hardcopy of the book to the publishers. The publisher will give you templates, formatting and cover design options.
Order one advance copy of your inspirational book to proofread. Be sure that your book looks the way you want, then order the number of copies you need. To promote your book, consider sending free copies, along with a cover letter explaining who you are and what the message of your book is, to your local churches and other religious organizations.
