Maria Cordis Onwuegbuna (1924–2016) was an African-born Roman Catholic nun and a Nigerian writer-poet, playwright, historian, essayist, and children's book author. She has had a very active and notable involvement in the Igbo tribe of Nigeria. She has published widely in various literary magazines and her work is featured in anthologies worldwide. She is most famous for her book "The Broken Calabash".
