From 2008 to 2018 he was an award-winning health policy and political reporter for The Washington Post, where he broke many big stories—such as a major overhaul of America's medical research program—and interviewed leaders including President Obama, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, NIH Director Francis Collins, NASA Administrator Michael Griffin, FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg, Google Health SVP David Feinberg, and Microsoft Research CTO Rick Rashid. Before joining The Post, he did stints covering the pharmaceutical industry, infectious diseases, mental health, genetics, cancer and stem cell research.
