The petroglyphs at Robbins Butte are located on the southern tip of the Bitterroot Mountains in the Lemhi River Valley of east-central Idaho. The origins and timeline of the petroglyphs are unknown. While there are theories that the petroglyphs may have been created by the Nez Perce or Shoshone tribes some archaeologists contend that the petroglyphs predate the arrival of any Native American tribes to the area.
