How to Make a Homemade Globe

The process

  Blow up the balloon to the desired size of the finished globe.

  Make a mixture of 1 part glue to 2 parts water.

  Soak strips of the newspaper in the glue mixture, than apply the strips to the outside of the balloon. Cover the entire balloon.

  Once the first layer of newspaper dries, add another layer. Apply at least three layers.

  Once the last layer dries, use the needle to pierce the hard outer shell and pop the balloon.

  Paint the exterior of the globe. If you are using light colors, you may have to begin with a coat of white paint, then add color.
