The Women’s Studio Workshop studio residency grant is available to any female artist working in printmaking, paper making, photography, book arts or ceramics. The grant offers a stipend of $2,000 to $3,000, a $700 materials budget, a stay at the Women’s Studio Workshop with support and guidance from resident artists, a travel stipend, housing and unlimited studio use for six to eight weeks to create a new body of work. Applicants must submit the application form, a one-page description of proposed project, a resume, 10 images of recent work including a slide script and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Postmark deadline is April 1 and recipients are notified by June 30.

The Virginia A. Groot Foundation Grant provides $5,000, $10,000 or $35,000 to three ceramic sculptors or sculptor artists yearly. Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time at the time of deadline, and can be at any stage in their careers. Students are not eligible and neither is work created as a student. Teachers are eligible as long as their proposal is for their development as artists rather than teachers. Applicants must submit 20 images of their work either 35mm slides or on a CD. Slides are to be submitted in a flat, see-through slide page. Label slides with an arrow showing the top of the slide and the applicant’s name. Slides must be numbered. A title sheet must accompany the numbered slides with the title, medium, size and date finished for each slide. Deadline is March 1.

The Ruth and Harold Chenven Foundation provides cash awards of $1500 to craftspeople and artists with a project in mind. Applicants must submit three copies of a one-page (300 words) artist’s statement, a one-page (300 words) proposal (budget not necessary) and a one-page list of images including title, medium, dimensions and date completed. Five 5" x 7" images must be submitted on a CD with the applicant’s name and title of each image. Head each page of the application with name, address and contact info. Applications are due July 15.
