Who performs in an oratorio?

Oratorios are typically performed by a large ensemble, including an orchestra, a choir, and soloists. The orchestra is typically made up of stringed instruments, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. The choir is typically made up of four parts: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. The soloists are usually operatic singers who take on the lead roles in the oratorio.
