Open your music recording software. Set up the program to record a new track.
Plug in the microphone using the mini-jack plug or adapter into the line-in on the back of your computer, or the headphone socket if you're using a laptop.
Speak into the microphone at the level you will be speaking when performing the speech. Check the input level gauge on the software program. Change the microphone volume by adjusting the input level control, making sure the record level does not go over the red in the level gauge.
Click on the "Record" button on your music program. Start recording your speech; if you make any mistakes, erase the recorded track and start again.
Save the recorded speech to your desktop.
Open iTunes by clicking on the icon in your desktop dock. Import the recorded speech onto your iTunes by dragging the file into your iTunes library.
Click on "File" in the command bar at the top of the screen. Select "New Playlist" from the drop-down menu. Insert a name in the text box below the box entitled "Untitled Playlist" in the left-hand column of the screen.
Click on "Music" at the top of the left-hand column below the gray "Library" header. Click and drag the recorded speech folder into your newly titled play list folder further down the same column.
Insert a blank CD into your computer's disk drive. Select the "Burn Disk" tab in the bottom, right-hand corner of the screen.
