Instructions

    • 1

Roll out the fondant into a thin sheet on a surface coated in corn starch. Use the cutter to make small squares with 1 inch sides. Do this 2 days before you bake the cake, allowing them to dry.

    • 2

Bake the cake following the directions on the package on the sport ball cake mold. When it is cool, insert a dowel rod into the cake for support. Then put a layer of icing on the cake.

    • 3

Roll out more fondant, cut a circle that is 3 inches in diameter for the top of the disco ball, and attach.

    • 4

Dust the cornstarch off of the squares using the paintbrush. Attach them to the cake starting at the bottom and working up making a straight line vertical line. In some places you will have to use scissors to make the pieces fit.

    • 5

Let the cake sit overnight to ensure that the pieces are set. Then dust the whole cake with the silver luster dust following the directions on the package.
