How to Remove Rubber Contact Glue

You may use a rubber contact glue, such as rubber cement, if you do a good deal of arts and crafts. Rubber contact glue can adhere to most objects, and because it comes in an almost liquid form it is easy to drip the glue onto other objects. However, even if you do drip the rubber contact glue, there are ways you can go about removing it without causing any damage to the object.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Dab the area with the rubber contact glue with a clean rag. If the glue has not dried yet it is going to remove much easier.

    • 2

Mix a mild dish soap that doesn't have any bleach in it with a cup of water. Blot at the rubber contact glue with a rag. The detergent is going to loosen the bond the glue has formed with the object it is stuck to.

    • 3

Spray the glue with a spray bottle filled with water.

    • 4

Repeat the process with the neutral detergent to remove any rubber contact glue that hasn't washed off.

    • 5

Dry off the area with a clean rag. The rubber contact glue should now all be gone.
