How to Make a Fake Tattoo Out of a Picture

Fake tattoos are a way to wear a tattoo temporarily for a night out or to see how a permanent tattoo will look. Any picture can be transferred into a fake tattoo and include any color desired. Fake tattoos will fade over the course of several days or, depending on the markers used, can be removed immediately. Making a fake tattoo is a project that can be done for parties and Halloween costumes or to test the appearance of tattoos on your body.

Instructions

    • 1

Print out or copy the picture onto white, plain paper. Tape the picture, face side up, onto the purple page of the spirit paper.

    • 2

Go over all of the lines on the picture with a pencil. Remove the tape and flip the white paper over. Check that all of the lines are visible in purple on the back of the design.

    • 3

Cut any excess paper from around the design and leave a 1/2-inch border. Hold the design by the border to avoid smearing the lines.

    • 4

Combine 1-part liquid soap to 3-parts water in a spray bottle. Spray the part of the body the fake tattoo will go on with the mixture.

    • 5

Apply the picture to the skin with the purple lines facing the skin. Smooth out any wrinkles with the pads of your fingers. Leave the picture on the skin for two minutes.

    • 6

Remove the picture slowly from the skin. Start at the top in the left corner if you are right-handed and the right corner if you are left-handed.

    • 7

Allow the purple imprint of the picture dry on the skin for a couple of minutes.

    • 8

Trace the purple lines on the skin with markers to make it a fake tattoo. Outline the outer and thicker parts of the picture first, and then color in with a different color.
