With the price of digital photography equipment dropping rapidly, it's easier than ever to sell your photos on the Internet. There is high demand for stock photography as the Internet grows and more people are looking for images to use on their websites, blogs and other online profiles. You won't get rich quick by selling your photos in this manner, but it is a legitimate method to earn some extra cash here and there.

  • Computer with Internet access

      Take some pictures using your digital camera, keeping composition and subject matter in mind.

      Choose a website to host and sell your images, such as Dreamstime.com or iStockphoto.com.

      Create an account and fill out the required information to become a contributor.

      Upload your initial picture samples. Your work will be evaluated and approval will be based on its quality.

      Once you are accepted as a contributor, upload as many pictures as you want to your account.

      Tag or provide relevant keywords for your image, limiting them to between one and three words. The website's internal search engine will index your photos based on these keywords.
