Go to a website such as Picture2Life or Picasa to begin creating your collage. Links are provided in Resources. Whichever site you decide to use, the steps for making the collage are similar.
Sign up for a free account by clicking on the button "Sign Up." Fill out the information such as User Name, Password and Email Address. This step is completely optional, but is recommended because there are benefits to being a member of a website like Picture2Life. Every poster or collage that you create will be saved within the site, and available for you to edit at any time.
Upload or import photos. Once you have finished signing up for a free account you will be directed to your homepage. Click on the option "Create Collage" at the top of the screen. Choose to upload pictures from your hard drive or import pictures from places like Facebook, Flickr or Myspace by clicking on "Upload" or "Import." Choose the photos that you want to use. Click "OK."
Select each photo that you're going to use for the collage by clicking on top of the photos to select them. Press "Continue To Next Step."
Adjust the settings by clicking on the "Settings" option. Change the height and width of the collage by clicking on "change." The size is totally up to you. You can also adjust the columns and rows, spacing and cells. These settings are also completely up to you. For example, more columns and rows will be needed for more photos--if you have 10 photos you might want the collage to have more columns.
Customize the colors and effects for the collage by clicking on "Customize." Scroll down the option bar and choose the background color of your choice, dimensions, quick effects such as fading, saturation or color effect and add fun frames. Your collage will be previewed on the screen as you choose different options, so you will be able to decide which effects work best for you. When finished click "Apply Now."
Save your collage to the website so you can edit it at a later date by clicking the "Save" button. Choose the "Download" button to save the collage to your computer hard drive.
Print out your collage poster on your home printer or save the file to disk and take it to your local printing center. Places like Kinko's and Staples complete most poster print jobs for a reasonable price.
