The Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts has a variety of grants open to Hawaiians in the areas of folk art, community art and individual artistic fellowships. This group also runs the Hawaii State Art Museum. Its funding comes from the state of Hawaii and the National Endowment for the Arts. Its mission is to promote, perpetuate, and encourage arts and culture specific to Hawaii.

The Atherton Family Foundation, founded in 1976, supports grants to non-profit organizations in Hawaii. The foundation focuses on providing additional support to 501(c)3 non-profits for their expansion of services. It considers applications on a rolling basis, and it has a strong history of supporting the arts in Hawaii.

The Castle Foundation focuses on providing additional support to education institutions and other organizations that seek to better the lives of the economically challenged in Hawaii. Organizations with a strong arts background that seek to work in impoverished areas can apply for an arts grant. Grants must be used for special projects or expansion services, and they cannot be used as operating costs or start-up capital.
