Florida Art Grants

Though many artists must pull from their own pockets or look to provide commissions or funding to create their work, there are numerous grants available throughout the state. Many awards are available statewide, while some are county or city wide.
  1. Florida Division of Cultural Affairs General Support Grant

    • This grant is awarded to organizations who are realizing their mission statement and furthering Florida's Division of Cultural Affairs' goals. The organizations should either be providing professional services as a local arts agency or state service organization. The organization may also be eligible if it designs, creates or produces exhibits, performances, events or educational workshops. Organizations must meet certain budget requirements, including a minimum of $250,000 operating costs. Funding requests are also capped between 10 percent and 25 percent. Operating cost requirements and funding caps depend on type of grant and award level.

    Florida Division of Cultural Affairs Specific Cultural Project Grant

    • This grant is awarded for a specific project furthering Florida's cultural goals. There are several areas of funding, including arts in education, discipline-based awards and cultural community development grants. Award amounts depend on the nature of the project and its category.

    Florida Cultural Division Indivial Artist Fellowship

    • This award is given to individual artists who have already seen a high level of achievement in their careers. Awards are $2,500 or $5,000. Artists can apply in various areas, including dance, theater, folk arts, media arts, and visual arts and crafts. Among other requirements, applicants must be Florida residents, cannot be students, and must not have received a fellowship from the state of Florida in the last five years.

    The Celebration Foundation

    • This grant is awarded to organizations in the Osceola, Fla. area. The Celebration Foundation offers small grants, sponsorships and scholarships. Funding requests start at $200, and consideration is given to organization or project need, impact, feasibility, resources, capacity and funding scope. Recipients must also provide the foundation with at least one letter outlining the advantages of the foundation's grant program.
