The Louisiana Division of the Arts grants assist individuals and organizations. Louisiana residents 18 years or older who have lived in the state for at least two years are eligible for an artist fellowship or a career advancement grant. The artist fellowship grants are available for Louisiana residents involved in dance, design arts, folk life, literature, media, music, theater and visual arts and crafts. The fellowship grants recognize those individuals for artistic excellence.
The individual career advancement grant assists artists in developing skills that can help advance their careers and work.
Eligible organizations include nonprofits, educational institutions, colleges or universities and local, parish, or state government agencies. Grants available for these organizations include stabilization, capacity-building and artist-in-residence programs.
Stabilization grants support organizations that preserve Louisiana's cultural resources. Capacity building grants help organizations with financial and administrative needs, and the artist-in-residence program places artists as teachers in classrooms to integrate their art into the curriculum.
The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities awards grants to Louisiana individuals who establish long-term programs that educate the importance of humanities.
To be eligible for the grant, the applicant must demonstrate the history of the organization and the organization’s fiscal profile, how the humanities fit into the project, an outline of the project, materials used to create the program, description of the audience and a description of the workers involved.
