Wildlife Tattoo Ideas

Designing a wildlife tattoo can be challenging because of the many different options available. Tattoos are permanent, so it is important that you develop a design you like that holds a deeper personal meaning.
  1. Totem Animal

    • Ancient civilizations would often tattoo themselves with their totem animal in an attempt to possess that animal's qualities and traits. This very idea can be applied to modern-day tattooing. Choose an animal that has qualities you admire; you might choose a bear for it's strength or a mouse for it's attention to detail. This is a personal choice that can only be made by you.

    Animal Portrait

    • Animal portraits are often used to commemorate a family pet or favorite animal. Many people consider family pets to be more than just a pet; instead, they too are a member of the family. However, an animal portrait does not have to be of a pet, it could be of an animal with an element of beauty about it's appearance.

    Wild Flowers

    • It can be easy to forget that wildlife encompasses not only animal life but plant life as well. Use a wildflower, such as a daisy, in your design to make your tattoo stand out. Wildflowers can hold all the beauty of other flowers but with a more interesting, and often more personal meaning.

    Patriotic

    • In 1782 the bald eagle was chosen as the emblem of the United States of America. It was selected as a symbol of long life, strength and majesty. If you are patriotic then the bald eagle could be the perfect wildlife tattoo for you. It has a distinct appearance and can be easily distinguished from other species of bird.
