Click the “File” tab and select “New.” Click the “Certificates” category in the left task pane. Select an award subcategory. Review the templates that appear.
Download the template by clicking the template name and the “Download” icon in the right task pane. The template opens in Word.
Customize the template by highlighting the default text and typing in your information for the award certificate. Change the graphics by right clicking the image and selecting “Change Picture.” Browse your computer and locate a new image. Click the image and the “Open” button. The image appears on the certificate.
Access the Google Documents website (see Resources). Type “Certificate” in the search box. Click the “Search Templates” button. Review the templates that appear.
Download the template by clicking the “Use This Template” button. The template opens in Google Documents.

Download the template by clicking the “Use This” button. The template opens in OpenOffice Writer.

Change the graphics by selecting the default image and pressing “Delete.” Select “Insert” and “Image” from the main menu. Select “From File.” Browse your computer and locate a new image. Click the image and the “Open” button. The image appears on the certificate.
