Instructions

    • 1

Wash and dry the clothing you are going to airbrush. If your clothes are going to shrink, you want to make sure they have already shrunk before airbrushing any designs on them.

    • 2

Prepare your airbrushing area. Lay down plastic sheets because airbrushing can get messy.

    • 3

Mix the paint colors that you want to use by following the paint maker's instructions. Assemble any nozzles and add any color cups that you need. Set the spray pressure and turn on the compressor.

    • 4

Test the paint pressure before directly applying any paint to the clothing or shoes. This will save you a lot of hassle if you need to readjust the nozzles or paint thickness. It is a good idea to practice airbrushing the entire design before making your final product.

    • 5

Place your design template on your fabric if you are using a template. Make sure you are painting evenly and avoiding paint buildup. Allow the paint to dry completely.

    • 6

Dry the piece of clothing in a dryer to make the colors more permanent. Turn the piece of clothing inside out and place it in the dryer at the highest setting for 30 to 40 minutes.
