How to Dilute Airbrush Paint
Airbrushing is an art, and as with most types of art, supplies and materials are extremely important to completing a project with positive results. There are many types of airbrush paints, equipment and techniques used during a project; diluting, or reducing, airbrush paint to a desired quality and consistency is one of the most important aspects of an airbrushing technique.

- Water
- Paint-specific thinner
- Paint cup
- Ruler or chopsticks

Check product test sheets to learn more about your paints before diluting. If you over dilute certain paints they may not adhere well.

Reduce, or dilute, the airbrush paint with distilled water. Start with a little water and add more until the mixture flows like milk.

Stir mixture in a paint cup with a ruler or chopsticks.

Pour mixture into airbrush.
