Draw out your design with the face-paint pencil that comes with most face paint- kits. These pencils are light, but will help you outline your design so that you do not have to worry about creating a design as you go. It will also help your baby get used to the feeling of having something on her face.
Start on the inside. When painting a baby’s face, it is best to get the inner parts done first. Paint around the mouth and the eyes so that they have the most time to dry. This will also help the child get acclimated to the feeling of having paint on his face.
Work as fast as you can. The baby will likely become restless if you continue to keep her in one position for too long. Do not worry about making the painting overly intricate. The more time you take to paint, the more likely it is that your baby will begin to move around, which can result in a messy paint job.
