Select an animal pattern of your liking. Hundreds of free patterns can be found online, such as on AllCrafts.net. Depending on your skill level, you may choose to draw a pattern of your own.
Choose a fabric for the stuffed animal. Felt, canvas and faux fur are all good fabrics to use.
Trace the animal pattern onto the inside of the fabric using a pencil. Make two such identical tracings.
Cut the fabric tracings out using scissors.
Pin the two pieces of fabric together so that the insides are out.
Turn on the glue gun and allow the glue to heat up. According to ArtsAndCraftsNet.com, most glue guns take around three to five minutes to heat up. Newer models may take less than a minute.
Carefully deposit the glue from the glue gun to the inside edges of the two pieces of inside-out fabric, keeping the pins in place to maintain the animal's shape. Leave an opening the width of your fist in order to stuff the animal.
Allow the glue to bond overnight before taking out the pins and turning the fabric right side out.
Stuff the animal with fiberfill according to how firm you would like the stuffed animal to be.
Use the glue gun to seal off the opening. The end result should resemble an animal-shaped pillow.
Attach embellishments, such as buttons for eyes, to the outside of the stuffed animal. Other embellishments may include a ribbon around its neck, pink felt for the inside of the ears and tongue, or a cutout tail. Allow newly deposited glue to bond overnight.
