How Can I Store Framed Art in a Vertical File?

Storing art in one computer file will take up a lot of space in terms of kilobytes, but it can also solve the problem of looking for several different files on your computer. Storing art in a vertical file will also help you quickly find images for a web page, or to send via e-mail. Another positive reason for creating a vertical file, is how easy it is to cut and paste the images from several files into an individual one.

Instructions

    • 1

Create a blank, vertical document in a graphics program. Import one framed art image into your graphics program. Cut and paste the image into the vertical document. Do this by using the rectangular tool, which is included in all good graphics programs for cutting out sections of images, or whole images. Once the image has been pasted into the vertical document, you'll then discover whether you need to enlarge your document further.

    • 2

Import the other art which you wish to include in the vertical file. Only import one art file into your graphics program at a time. Use the rectangular tool to cut around all sides of the imported image and paste into the still open vertical file. Repeat this process with more framed art files.

    • 3

Save the file in JPEG format, when the vertical document is full. You should save the file as "VerticalFramedArtDoc1." Save the vertical file in the folder which holds all the original art images.

Repeat the first three steps to create further vertical files. Give each new vertical file the same title, but to differentiate them, number them. When you have created a sizeable numbers of vertical files, create a subfolder with the title "ArtVerticalFiles."
