What Kinds of Crafts to Make for Craft Fairs

Craft fairs are full of hand-crafted items for sale. There are many options when it comes to making crafts for these types of fairs. People attending craft fairs look for unique, creative handcrafted items to display in their homes, offices and yards. When creating crafts for fairs, be imaginative and reinvent normal craft items by coming up with innovative ideas.
  1. Wreaths

    • Around Christmastime, wreaths are items found at craft fairs. Wreaths are decorated with ribbon, ornaments and flowers. When creating a wreath, incorporate colors that are not normally matched together for a Christmas wreath, such as blue and gold.

    Wooden Signs

    • Making wooden signs and selling them at craft fairs is a frequent option. Wooden signs are either carved by hand or purchased from a craft store. Carve letters, phrases or pictures into the sign or paint the sign with pictures or phrases. If the fair is around the holidays, incorporate holiday sayings into the signs such as "Holiday Greetings" or "Tis the Season."

    Candles

    • Homemade candles are crafts that are sold at craft fairs. Many people make candles in their homes. They are placed in decorative jars, labeled and sold. There is an unlimited amount of options when it comes to candle scents. Be creative and design some delightful smelling homemade candles. Candles are commonly made by melting hard wax in a double boiler. After it reaches the melting point, various scents are added. The wax is then poured into molds or jars.
