Draw out the graphic designs and ideas using paper and pencil. Once design ideas have been finalized, create a design template using the craft card and pencil. Sketch out the designs onto the craft card. Use the craft knife to cut out the templates.
Lay the template onto the body of the guitar and use adhesive masking tape to hold it firmly in place. This will prevent smearing of the paint when it is sprayed. Use old newspaper to cover areas of the guitar that you want to remain unaffected. This will prevent any excess spray paint from appearing on the body of the guitar.
Place the spray mask around your mouth and nose to prevent inhalation of paint fumes when spraying. Spray paint onto the template to create the graphic. Allow the paint to dry and carefully remove the template.
Cut strips of masking tape into various lengths and widths. Apply strips on to the body of the guitar. Spray paint the body of the guitar, covering the entire area where the strips have been applied. When the paint is dry, remove the strips to inspect the new multi-colored design of the guitar.
