How to Use a Fan Holder

A fan is a small, usually curve-shaped device that you can use to cool yourself by moving it rapidly in front of your face. Small fans are often accordion-pleated or have a slip-side design to spread out from a single point. This allows the fan to be held easily. A fan holder is a small stand that holds the open fan for display on a tabletop. Using a fan holder is simple and the most important aspect is choosing the right size holder for the fan.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the closed fan from the handle, or pivot point, to the outer edge.

    • 2

Select a fan holder to fit the fan. For fans nine inches or smaller, select a 3.5-inch-high fan holder base. For fans larger than nine inches, select a 4-inch-high fan holder base.

    • 3

Position the fan holder base on the table with the movable arms to each side. Spread the arms horizontal to the table.

    • 4

Open the fan and lock it open.

    • 5

Insert the handle or pivot area of the fan into the center of the fan holder base so that the edges of the fan are aligned with the fan holder arms.

    • 6

Move the arms toward the center until they make contact with the edges of the fan. Check that the fan is even in the display.
