Get either the base material or the core of one ski. It does not matter which one you use, because they are both the same shape. Place it on top of your large sheet of paper. Take your pencil and trace the shape onto the paper. Be sure the shape is exactly the same as the base material or the core.
Choose a picture or image to be displayed on your top sheet. Select this based on how you want to express yourself. For example, if you are a musician, create a display of musical notes, clefs and staves. If you identify strongly with a celebrity, include the image of his or her face.
Using a pencil, draw your selected picture or image on the large sheet of paper. Remember that skis are very narrow and thus cannot accommodate wide images. Create a design that is confined to the shape the ski. If it makes the drawing easier, you could alternatively draw a larger picture that goes beyond the boundaries of the skis. Just remember that the final top sheet design will display only that part of the image that can fit on the ski.
Color in your image using paint or markers. Try to use colors that will stand out on the ski hill. For example, steer clear of white, since your skis will usually be seen against a white background.
When you are finished coloring, send the sheet of paper off to the manufacturer. Before you allow the manufacturer to finish your skis, have a discussion with him to see if there are any manufacturing-related problems with the shapes or colors you have chosen.
