How to Make Souvenir Books

Souvenir books help keep an event fresh in a person's memory. Be it for a friend, work colleague or participant in an activity day, souvenir books are something tangible the recipient can hold onto and look at for years to come. If a souvenir book is for a business event, it is better to have it professionally produced, but for friends and colleagues making a souvenir book by hand shows time and effort has gone into it; it also allows for greater artistic freedom.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather together all the items you want to include in your souvenir book. These might include photos, leaflets, personal notes, ticket stubs -- anything that serves as a reminder of the special day or time.

    • 2

Buy a good quality scrapbook. Lay out the items on the pages and decide where each will go before gluing anything down. Make sure to leave space to annotate the items.

    • 3

Create borders for items by laying each on a piece of colored card. Draw around the item with a pencil, leaving around 1/2 inch on all sides. Cut out the card and glue it to the scrapbook page, then glue the item to the card.

Fix sturdier items to the pages using a needle and thread. Use a hammer and nail to create two holes in the item. Push the needle through one of the holes and the page, then loop it back through the page and other hole. Alternatively, put awkward keepsakes in plastic folders and glue these to the page.
