Set seven pages of type or less. Open a new document. Make your font size 8pt. Compose words that measure 3/4 inch total length and six lines. This will form a square approximately 3/4 inch. Your composition can be a poem, a request or famous quote. You have a total of seven pages to cover, including any artwork you want to include.
Use a scanned photograph or clip art and resize the image to 3/4 by 3/4 inch. This is for your interior art and cover. Print out your type and images on a laser printer. Take your images to a copier store and reduce them to 3/16-inch size
Cut out a section of 1/4-inch graph paper two blocks by 8 blocks. Cut and remove six blocks from the bottom row, starting on the bottom right corner. Cut and remove the bottom left block. You should have eight blocks on the top row and the block second from the left in the bottom row.
Cut around each of your type areas on your reduced photocopy sheet to make 1/4-inch square. Cut around each of your images to make a 1/4-inch square. Apply glue stick wax to the back of your type or images and paste your items to the top row of blocks, leaving the far right and bottom blocks empty.
Turn the tiny book over. Apply glue stick wax to the back of the row of eight blocks. Fold the glue side of the first block over the second block and press the pages together. Fold the glue side of the third block over the fourth block and press the pages together. Fold the glue side of the fifth block over the sixth block and press the pages together. Fold the seventh block over the eighth block and press the pages together.
Cut out two pieces of card stock 5/16-inch square. Glue cover images to the cards. Glue the front cover to the left blank block. Fold the bottom block up over the last top block and glue the back cover to the blank bottom block.
Thread a needle with embroidery floss. Tie a knot in one end and trim the tail to 1/8 inch. Pierce the right side of the front cover from back to front. Pull the thread through until 1/2 inch and the knot remain. Make a loop of the thread. Take your needle back through the book cover hole and pull the needle through until the loop is 1/8 inch tall. Bring the needle around the side and through the loop. Bring the knot around the side and through the loop. Pull the knot and needle threads snug. Tie a knot in the needle thread the same length as the first thread. Repeat for the back cover. Use the threads to tie the book closed.
