One of the simplest forms of a collage can be one created of pictures. Easiest for family members to create — as they are usually the ones with access to photos — a collage showing the graduate through the years can make a memorable gift. Start with baby pictures and work your way up through the years to the point of graduation. If you’re creating this for a son, daughter or sibling, make sure to include pictures with each person in the family.
Friends can create a collage much like a family can, as they usually have no shortage of past photos. Paste pictures from your favorite past experiences within the collage. Try to include pictures of as many close friends as possible. If you want to make it extra memorable and unique, have several different people write a note and paste their own pictures in the collage.
Pictures within collages don’t have to be photos of only friends and family. As an alternative, create a collage filled with photos of interests. This might include pictures of favorite sports stars, or actors and actresses. You can also put pet photos or pictures of famous locations the person has visited or desires to visit. To add an extra flare to the design, you can spell out the person's name with the collage photos.
There are no rules for collages; you don’t have to limit yourself to pictures. You can include objects as well. The only real necessity is that you can stick the object to your collage board. Objects might include pins, or mums from high school; baby clothes, such as socks; or childhood toys. Decorate collages artistically by painting designs along the borders or adding glitter.
