Place a small amount of the decoupage glue onto the surface to which you want to add the newspapers or magazine clippings. Use the paintbrush to spread out the glue so that it covers the area where you will add the first piece. Spread the glue as evenly as possible.
Use the scissors to cut out a section of newspaper or magazine that you want to add to the furniture. Measure the furniture or put the paper up next to it to get a feel of how big you need the piece to be and how it will look when it is attached.
Apply the decoupage glue to the back of the piece of paper you just cut in Step 3. Use the brush to evenly spread the glue on the back of the paper. Once it is spread, quickly press the piece of paper against the area of furniture where you applied the glue. Press down on the paper to even it out and smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles that may appear.
Repeat Steps 1 through 3 until you have covered the surface of the furniture with the newspaper or magazines. Once it is covered, apply a coat of clear varnish over the entire piece and let it dry. Apply three more coats and let each coat dry before adding the next. Apply a coat of the acrylic sealant to finish the furniture.
