How to Troubleshoot a Senator Paper Cutter

Senator, also known as Schneider, manufactures large-scale paper cutting machines. These machines cut hundreds of sheets of paper at a time and are often used by schools or businesses. These machines may suffer from power failure or an inability to cut correctly. Though you can troubleshoot many problems, you should not attempt to fix the blade or the delicate internal components of the machine. Attempting to fix the blade may result in serious injury.

      Disconnect the power adapter from the electrical outlet. Wait about one minute and plug the adapter back into the wall.

      Press the "On" switch on the machine. If the machine does not turn on, move the power adapter to a different outlet and try again. If the machine still will not turn on, it may require repair.

      Examine the main relief valve to ensure that it is turned to the "on" position.

      Connect the cylinder bracket to the main relief valve using the cylinder bracket's cable.

      Turn the machine off. Examine the hydraulic system's levels to ensure that they are properly filled. Examine the system to ensure there are no obstructions. Remove any dirt, buildup or obstructions using a clean towel.

      Open the paper supply. Add paper, if desired. Loosen the clamps by lowering the pressure setting. Turn the pressure valve to lower the setting.
